Lexus/volvo 900 v8

MessageAuthor

Can anyone tell me he anyone ibs thought or already done a conversion using the lexus ls400 v8? This engine sounds amazing it's ultra reliable and the US and now thor racing are catering big time for this engine and is ever more a tempting proposition.

My father owned a Lexus LS400 for years with zero trouble. The V8 is one excellent engine and would be a fantastic basis for a conversion.

I wish i could do this project but i am beyond skint, anyway you don't need to be bothered with that. The whole reason for this thread is just to stimulate debate or here about someones Build and the hardships they went through to achieve thier goal and most importantly what it's like to drive and was it worth it? Sorry if i've raised anybodys hopes that i might be doing it.

If trying the V8 route, I think Chevy LS1 is the way to go. Cheap, strong, 380bhp as standard, and easy to get a manual box to fit (Tremec/Borg Warner). I might yet do this with my 164... still thinking. John
